Virtual Practice from Around the Sanshin Network
For the most part, we're not holding events in person. However, temples, centers and groups from around the Sanshin Network are offering virtual programming and are willing to include practitioners from outside their immediate sanghas. English is spoken in all of the following locations, though it may not be the primary language. All times given are local time in the location of the centers offering the practice.

Please note: For the most part, Sanshin's virtual practice activities are not designed to accommodate a global audience across multiple time zones. They are simply meant to allow participants to "look through the window" and join in while Sanshin carries out its regular practice schedule. Practitioners from outside of Bloomington are welcome to participate, and they do, but they do so with the understanding that there is a time difference between Bloomington (Eastern time in the US) and their own locations.

- Heart Sutra Study, Jan 23 - Mar 10: The Heart of Great Perfect Wisdom Sutra is one of Buddhism's Pranja Paramita Sutras expounding the teachings of emptiness. Any thorough discussion of the Heart Sutra should include examining the basic teachings of Buddhism, so this class will include an overview of teachings such as the Four Noble Truths, the 12-fold Chain, the Eighteen Elements and the Two Truths. But at its core, the Heart Sutra is mirror for the study of the self, so this class is intended to help participants deepen their understanding of what it means to be a human being and support an aspiration to live an awakened life. Please email Shoryu for more details.
